Welcome!

Hello everyone and welcome to our brand new blog! I know it's crazy times right now. Parents are home from work, kids are home from school - all in the hopes that we can keep as many people safe from covid-19 as possible. While us parents understand that this is necessary, we also understand that it's not necessarily "easy".

If you know us or follow us on instagram, then you know that I homeschooled most of my kiddos for the past several years. Then, in January, I sent them to school. I was at a point where I was feeling overwhelmed and just needed a break from the pressures of being almost solely responsible for my children's education. I was also frazzled due the literal 24/7, very rarely getting a break from kids, life. So you could look at this as a pretty "funny" turn of events that my kids are back home!

Requirement (by the school) or not, I knew my kids were going to need some educational activities to keep busy during this time and falling back to some of my homeschool ways seemed like a good way to go. In theory, anyway. In reality there's been lots of playing and lots of youtube! I've been rolling with it (it's given me so much time to organize closets and start spring cleaning), but now it's time to get serious.

Once you get to know me you'll see that I'm all in for using what works when it comes to education. I have two daughters with Down syndrome and have found that they both learn well from videos - the ability to watch again and again and have that repetition is a gift. No really, it's a gift to my voice and a gift to my sanity because repetition is key and mama gets tired of singing the songs and counting the things!

I'm all for educational screen time and video making is a passion of mine, so I thought it was the perfect time to delve into some of my "for kids" video ideas! For my own kids (they love watching themselves on the tv) and to share with YOU! Just one tiny way to contribute and try to "help" all the parents out there looking for some fun, fresh, and free ideas for all the little cherubs we're corralling!

So come along with us on our adventures, 'cause that's what this is ... journeying together, social distancing style.
